History

We started this venture because Argentine instructors would come to Tacoma and then realize it took too long to create a customer base. They would move to Seattle and leave us without instruction. So, I decided to get trained and provide a place where those in the South Sound could receive instruction and have a place to dance Argentine Tango.

Backstreet Tango offers a warm, welcoming atmosphere in the South Sound to enthusiasts who seek a great and traditional Argentine tango venue. We teach using a workshop format, emphasizing mastery of the core elements of tango. Our class focuses on developing a solid understanding along with the proper performance of the basic elements of the dance. Certified Argentine Tango instructor and Backstreet Tango owner Luis Perez was recognized and evaluated as an advanced dancer by world class dancers in 2012.
