WTVR is a soft rock format radio station that broadcasts on 98.5 FM frequency in Richmond, Va. The station, nicknamed Lite 98 FM, plays music from a variety of artists, including Elton John, Roxette, Matchbox Twenty, Eagles, Whitney Houston and Tim McGraw. It was founded in 1947 as WCOD, the first FM channel in Richmond. WTVR is a member of the Clear Channel Broadcasting conglomerate of radio and television stations. Clear Channel owns or operates more radio and television stations in 25 markets throughout the United States.
