West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine
Established in 1974, West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine is located in Lewisburg, W.Va. The school offers four-year osteopathic medical education programs and has more than 500 students. It also has over 500 licensed, practicing osteopathic physicians and more than 150 full-time employees. The school s basic science course of medicine offers classes in biochemistry, developmental genetics, gross anatomy, histology and immunology. It also offers courses in microbiology, neuroscience, nutrition, pathology, physiology and pharmacology. Additionally, the school offers problem-based learning and graduate teaching assistantships for students. West Virginia School s library offers a full range of services, including medline and pubmed literature and database searches, interlibrary loan requests, and traditional book and journal resources.
