Operating as a plumbing, well and septic supply company, VAMAC has been serving customers for more than 55 years. Charles F. Cole founded VAMAC in Richmond, Va., in 1951. Originally established as a commercial and industrial water-well drilling and water supply contractor, the company distributed pumps, piping and well supplies. In the 1930s, VAMAC expanded into wholesale plumbing and heating distribution. VAMAC joined the WIT Plumbing Wholesale Buying Group in 1988. The group consists of more than 80 independent plumbing wholesalers. VAMAC operates from more than 15 locations throughout Virginia, including its head office in Richmond. The company employs approximately 135 associates.
