Thoreau Middle School serves students in grades seven and eight. The school s academic curriculum includes classes in English, history, mathematics and science. It also conducts several after-school programs. Thoreau Middle School maintains a parent-teacher association and library. It has creative writing, homework and technology materials support clubs. The school supports the National Junior Honor Society. Thoreau Middle School also offers guidance counseling sessions. The school administers the English for Speakers of Other Languages program.
