Child & Family Services of Eastern Virginia, now known as The Up Center, has been serving the community for more than 120 years. It provides a variety of foster care and adoption services, such as case management, mentoring, therapy, crisis intervention, support and 24-hour emergency. Headquartered in Norfolk, Va., the center offers independent living skill development and behavior management services. The Up Center also provides early childhood support, parenting and educational services. It offers treatment and support services to individuals with mental and developmental disabilities. Additionally, the center provides various family crisis intervention services to deal with problems, such as divorce, anger, custody, and drug and alcohol abuse. The Up Center offers individual and family counseling, as well as play therapy services. With a location in Portsmouth, Va., it operates an employee assistance program.
