Stave & Cork is a retail package store and restaurant selling and serving primarily wine but also beer and assorted sundries. Wine is available for purchase by tasting flights, the glass, and bottle for consumption on and off-site. The relaxed atmosphere in a historic building is meant to bring the winery tasting room experience to downtown Salem. Stave & Cork focuses on boutique wineries and wines from Virginia, across the United States, and Internationally. An emphasis on small family-owned wineries is a staple of the offerings. A limited menu of food and non-alcoholic items for consumption on premises are available.

On a Sunday afternoon, we wandered in to Stave and Cork to find live music being played. The owner was quick to approach us and let us know how thing worked. One key. Was the wine tasting....

We loved the Stave & Cork! The charcuterie board had delicious cheeses and meats. My South African dry Riesling was excellent, and my husband's Mimosa used surprisingly good champagne. Proprietor...
