The Standard Performance Evaluation Corporation (SPEC) is a non-profit consortium that develops and endorses standardized benchmarks and tools for evaluating the performance of computing systems. They establish benchmark suites and review and publish results submitted by member organizations and other benchmark licensees. SPEC's benchmarks cover a wide range of areas, including cloud computing, CPUs, embedded systems, graphics, workstations, high-performance computing, Java client-server applications, storage, power, and virtualization.

SPEC recently announced the availability of the SPECaccel 2023 benchmark suite, which measures the performance of key system components using parallel applications running under the OpenACC and OpenMP target offloading APIs. They also welcomed EEMBC, the Embedded Microprocessor Benchmark Consortium, as their new Embedded Group (SPEC EG), expanding their portfolio with benchmarks for measuring the performance and energy efficiency of embedded processor hardware and software. SPECapc, another division of SPEC, released the SPECapc for Creo 9 benchmark, which measures the performance of computing systems running PTC Creo 9, a popular 3D CAD solution.
