SPSA consolidates the waste at their nine local transfer stations before transporting it to the Wheelabrator RDF Plant or directly to the SPSA Landfill. The SPSA Regional Landfill is managed to high environmental standards, preventing leaks and odors, and even selling energy back to the grid. Ash from the Wheelabrator RDF Plant is beneficially used as a cover material at the landfill.
