SpecialtiesDr. Ken Tompkins began his Hampton Roads Dermatology career as the Champus partnership provider at Fort Monroe. In 1994, he left the military base and formally established Tompkins Dermatology. A year later, the practice was expanded to the Kempsville section of Virginia Beach when he purchased the Dermatology practice of the retiring Dr. Marie Miot. Dr. Tompkins was the only dermatologist in the Outer Banks for nearly 8 years, supporting a large and very sun-damaged population. With the ever increasing need for advanced surgical treatment of skin cancer, Dr. Padman Menon, Mohss surgeon, joined the practice in 2003.
