Rivermont School

Established in 1992, Rockbridge County High School serves students in grades nine through 12 and offers a wide variety of academic and extracurricular activities. Its academic curriculum includes more than 100 courses, such as business, computer science, career and technical education, English, fine arts, foreign languages, health and physical education, mathematics, social studies and science. The high school offers various academic and extracurricular activities, including academic team, band, the Future Business Leaders of America, yearbook, and art, French, Latin, ski and Spanish clubs. It also provides a wide variety of athletic activities, including cheerleading, cross country, football, golf, volleyball, basketball, track and field, swimming, wrestling, baseball, lacrosse, soccer, softball and tennis. The high school is located in Lexington, Va., and is operated by Rockbridge County Schools.

Established in 1927, Lylburn Downing Middle School has an enrollment for students in grades six through eight. The school offers classes in various subjects, such as English, math, science and social studies. Its media center is equipped with a DVD and laser disc players, large screen television, video camera, scanner, roll laminator and laptops. Lylburn Downing Middle School also operates foreign language, vocational education, and arts and crafts departments. The school s library includes encyclopedias, dictionaries, storybooks and reference materials. In addition, it provides a variety of sports activities, including basketball, tennis, lacrosse and cheerleading. Lylburn Downing Middle School organizes special education programs for students with mental and physical disabilities.
