Prestwould Plantation Manor House was built in 1790 and occupied 1794. At that time it was the largest dwelling in Virginia. House has approximately 80% of its original furnishings. Sir Peyton Skipwith and his wife Lady Jean had the house built for their plantation which had more than 10,000 acres located along the Roanoke River.

It is truly sad to see this house and outbuildings falling into disrepair! The Director is so old fashioned he will not allow a website, FB, or keep up any travel apps. So just finding times,...
