Powhatan High School

Powhatan High School is a public school that provides academic education and career-oriented courses to students in grades nine through 12. The school s curriculum includes English, fine arts, mathematics, science, social studies, and foreign languages with a choice in French, German and Spanish. It also offers various courses in career and technical education, including business administration, agriculture production management, architectural designing, cosmetology, and carpentry and construction trades. Additionally, it offers courses in printing and graphic arts, health and family and consumer science. The school also offers early childhood, physical and special education. Powhatan High School has a library that provides a large collection of curriculum books, catalogues, online database and electronic resources. It also organizes various extracurricular activities, such as art, music, dance, theater and jazz band and musical concerts. Additionally, the school provides counseling services and the National Honor Society program. It provides various sports activities, including baseball, hockey, soccer, golf, wrestling and tennis. The school is a part of the Powhatan County Public Schools district and enrolls more than 1,200 students. The high school is located in Powhatan, Va.
