Patrick W O'Connell, MD - Ortho Virginia

Dr. Christopher Ellingson is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist. His career in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine has allowed him to positively impact both the physical well-being and functionality of patients. During his time serving as a sports medicine orthopedic specialist with the US Navy, where he served for 22 years, he cared for patients of all ages and physical abilities, including the Naval Special Warfare (SEALS) Community. He has a special clinical interest in and experience with hip arthroscopy for the treatment of femoracetabular impingement and hip labral tears. In his free time he likes to spend time with his wife and 3 daughters, who enjoy traveling together.

Dr. John Duerden is an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in foot and ankle surgery. His practice spans from arthritis care and deformity reconstruction to minimally invasive foot and ankle surgeries and treatment of sports injuries. Dr. Duerden served 26 years in the Navy, during which time he served as the orthopedic foot and ankle consultant to the Mid-Atlantic region. He enjoys snow skiing, biking, swimming, fishing, and paddle boarding, as well as road trips and camping with his wife and two children. Dr. Duerden has a particular interest in wounded warrior programs and participated in the Wave Warriors Surf Camp in Virginia Beach.

Dr. William Neway specializes in spine surgery. He chose orthopedic surgery as a specialty because it allows him to help patients get back to living. In his free time, Dr. Neway enjoys going for a run, exercising, sailing and being on the water, traveling, and spending time with family. He and his wife run 4-5 miles daily and complete a full and a half marathon every fall.
