History

Mindful Healing Counseling Services, LLC was developed by Dr. Monica P. Band, CRC, NCC to provide you with a personalized and culturally responsive approach to addressing your mental health needs. She developed her practice after 7 years working in various mental health settings across Northern Virginia. Dr. Band focuses on a humanistic, holistic, and developmentally appropriate care.

Specialties

Dr. Band specializes in providing individualized therapeutic services for preteens, adolescents, emerging adults, and adults. Individual Counseling Sessions: -Mood Issues: Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar -Grief, Loss, and Bereavement (i.e., of a person, animal, concept, or identity) -Racial and Cultural Identity Issues -Parents of Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and Other Developmental Disorders -Siblings of Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and Other Developmental Disorders -Existential Issues related to Spiritual and Religious Beliefs -LGBTQIA+ Gender Identity, Expression, Transition -Adjustment to Life Transitions -Past Trauma and Abuse (i.e. sexual or verbal abuse, neglect, abandonment) -Personal Growth Issues (i.e. body image issues, unable to regulate emotions or emotional outbursts, low self-esteem, etc.) -Relationship Issues (i.e. detachment, fear or ambivalence of commitment, getting emotionally close, etc.)
