Maryland & Virginia Milk Producers Cooperative Association, headquartered in Reston, Va., is a regional milk marketing and processing cooperative that serves more than 1,500 dairy farm families in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Alabama. Founded in 1920, it markets more than 3 billion pounds of milk annualy to a variety of customers who supply milk and dairy products to consumers on the east coast. It provides members a guaranteed milk market, leadership development and educational programs, and representation in local, state and national organizations committed to dairy, agricultural and cooperative issues. The company owns and operates Marva Maid, a fluid milk processing plant in Newport News, Va.; a manufacturing plant in Laurel, Md.; an equipment warehouse in Frederick, Md.; and Valley Milk Products in Strasburg, Va.
