Established in 1702, King William County is managed by a county administrator who reports to a five-member board of supervisors. The board's regular meetings are held in the board room of the King William County administration building that is open to the public. The county is spread over an area of more than 275 square miles and has a population of 13,000 people. The King William County s administrator s office performs a variety of duties, such as carrying out policies determined by the board of supervisors, installing and enforcing administrative procedures and conducting day-to-day business operations. Located in King William, Va., it operates a museum that features various displays that include African-American, colonial and Native American artifacts, an Aylett port scene and a King William mural.
