King & Queen Fish Hatchery

King and Queen Fish Hatchery, established in 1939, is a DWR warm water facility located in King and Queen County, Virginia. Over the years, the hatchery has played a significant role in the restoration of various fish species, including largemouth bass, striped bass, American shad, and catfish.

With a renovated facility completed in 2006, King and Queen Fish Hatchery now focuses on culturing two strains of striped bass, walleye, black bass varieties, crappie, and fathead minnows. The hatchery's team, led by Manager Chris Dahlem, continues to contribute to conservation efforts through fish stocking and habitat management.
