Hungry Mother State Park is operated by the Virginia State Parks of the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation. It provides a wide range of programs and activities, such as canoe tours, night hike and campfire programs. Its friday evening program allows various special guests share their knowledge and skills. It also offers special programs for summer, including children s fishing tournaments, full moon canoe tours, family fun day and arts and crafts festivals. It also rents cabins and boats. Its facilities include meeting rooms, cabins, a sports complex and picnic area. Hungry Mother State Park s cabins are reserved through the State Parks Reservation Center. Its recreational activities include swimming, camping and hiking. It additionally has an amphitheater and a restaurant that provides catering services.
