Hicks Construction

Brown Hall houses 72 freshmen. It was built in 1930 by the Women’s Missionary Society of the Virginia Methodist Conference with funds donated by Mrs. Edward Brown. The building originally served as a residence for Methodist women students at the College, and was purchased by the College in 1939.

Monroe's classical architecture compliments picturesque Old Campus. 136 freshmen live here. Monroe Hall opened in 1924 and was named after College alumnus and fifth President of the United States, James Monroe.

In 1991, Blow Gymnasium was renovated and converted from a physical education building into a complex for classrooms and offices, and was rededicated as Blow Memorial Hall.
