Haven of Northern Virginia

Haven of Northern Virginia, based in Annandale, Va., is a nonprofit, nonsectarian community organization of trained volunteers that offers emotional support to the bereaved and terminally ill, and their families and friends. Founded more than 30 years ago, it also provides education to the community about the needs of those who are grieving. Its volunteers have helped individuals by offering comfort and support, sharing insights, resources and techniques that encourage recovery and healing. Haven of Northern Virginia offers its services in various ways, such as individual support, widow or widower support group, suicide loss support, children s support group, and educational presentations to the community on various aspects of death.
