Grateful Kitchen Co

History

Grateful Kitchen is the brain child of Kimberly Sickmen, an Alexandria native who left banking to open her first business, with partner Marja Toan, in 2009 focusing on yoga apparel. The passion for yoga and health eventually evolved into opening a second and third business, also with Toan, Zweet Sport Hot Yoga, and Zweet Sport Total Fitness, all of which still operate in Old Town Alexandria. In 2016, she was encouraged by her mentor to start offering fresh healthy juice to her yoga students after class, which evolved into the Grateful Juice Company. From there the brand grew and eventually Sickmen got the idea to incorporate a food aspect as well.
