Ferry Farm was the boyhood home of George Washington, just across the Rappahannock River from the bustling young town of Fredericksburg. The future general and first president was 6 years old when his family moved to King George County (now Stafford County), Virginia, in 1738.

The house is nearly done, and when it is complete you'll be able to go inside and touch and experience everything, since it will all be reproductions....they completely explained the archeological...

Most unfriendly, unwelcoming staff. A smile would have been nice, but they spent 5 minutes telling us why we can't go inside for a tour today with a sour face. Thanks Karen. Won't be back
