The Fredericksburg Police Department, governed by the City of Fredericksburg in Virginia, is a law enforcement agency that works to protect resident s lives and their properties. The department has a patrol division that provides animal control and crisis negotiation services. The Fredericksburg Police Department operates a detective division that investigates cases related to domestic violence, forgeries, burglaries, arsons, frauds, worthless checks and sex crimes. The department supports the Drug Abuse Resistance Education program. The Fredericksburg Police Department has a communication center, as well as provides homeland security services. The department also maintains records and training bureaus. It has more than 100 full- and part-time employees.
