Fisher's Hill Battlefield, nestled in Strasburg, VA, is a unique expanse characterized by a series of small knobs and ridges strategically positioned in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley. It spans a mere 3.9 miles between the imposing Little North Mountain to the west and the majestic Massanutten Mountain to the east. Revered for its formidable defensive layout, this natural fortress earned the moniker "The Gibraltar of the Valley." It witnessed a pivotal moment in history during the Battle of Fisher's Hill on September 22, 1864, a mere three days following the intense Third Battle of Winchester.

Today, the legacy of this historic site is upheld by the Shenandoah Valley Battlefields National Historic District, which oversees the preservation and management of Ramseur's Hill Park within the Fisher's Hill Battlefield. These hallowed grounds served as the strategic position for Confederate Gen. Stephen D. Ramseur's troops amidst the fierce onslaught of Union forces, immortalizing the valor and sacrifice of those who fought on these storied lands.

Thanks to a non-profit the battlefield at Fischer's Hill (aka Ramseur's Hill) has recently received a well deserved upgrade. These include a parking lot, walking trail, and "Civil War Trails"...
