Dan Tomlinson joined First Command Financial Services as a Financial Advisor in June 2012, following a 26-year career in the United States Army. There, he served as a Special Forces officer in peace and combat, culminating with service at the White House on the staff of the National Security Council. He retired with the rank of Colonel. Dan graduated from the National War College with a Master of Science degree in strategy, the University of California with a Master of Arts degree in international relations, and Siena College with a Bachelor of Science degree in finance. Dan is a Certified Financial Planner & Trade, a Retirement Income Certified Professional and a member of the Financial Services Institute. He holds Series 6, 7, 63 and 65 securities licenses plus state life and health insurance licenses. As a First Command Financial Advisor, Dan values teamwork and brings extensive financial knowledge, straight talk and trustworthy advice to every family he serves. Married to a federal employee and trained on federal benefit planning, Dan is skilled in helping federal employees integrate their benefits into a comprehensive financial plan. Active in his community, Dan is a lifetime member of the Special Forces Association and the Office of Strategic Services (OSS) Society. Dan is married with one child and enjoys hiking and spending time with his family.
