Eta Chapter Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc. is a distinguished nursing sorority founded in 1932 at Freedman's Hospital on the campus of Howard University in Washington, D.C. With over 100 chapters across 33 states, the District of Columbia, Liberia, and the Virgin Islands, Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc. provides a platform for African American nurses to elevate the nursing profession and increase interest in the field. The organization offers leadership, networking, and mentoring opportunities, organizes community service projects, sponsors educational and research conferences, and provides scholarships for nursing students.
Soror Frances C. Gray, the current Basileus of Eta Chapter, has an impressive background in nursing, education, and administration. With degrees from Norfolk State University and the University of Phoenix, San Diego, Soror Gray has held various positions in the nursing field, including Clinical Manager, Case Manager, and Assistant Professor. In addition to her professional achievements, Soror Gray is a published author and a member of prestigious nursing societies. She joined Eta Chapter in 2010 and has served in several leadership roles. Outside of her nursing career, Soror Gray enjoys painting and cooking, and she is a proud mother and grandmother.
