Founded in 1939, the Chrysler Museum of Art exhibits paintings, as well as offers a comprehensive program for changing exhibitions and education activities for visitors of all ages. It exhibits various types of paintings and sculptures, including American, European, and contemporary and decorative art. The museum features a restaurant that serves a variety of cuisines, as well as organizes several parties and events. Additionally, it features a library that has a collection of more than 80,000 art volumes, including auction catalogs, artist files, and art-related journals and topics. The museum provides art classes, internships, and family and adult programs. It is supported by grants from the City of Norfolk, Virginia Commission for the Arts, Institute of Museum and Library Services, and National Endowment for the Arts. The Chrysler Museum of Art is located in Norfolk, Va.
