The Governor s School for the Arts offers a wide range of programs in visual and performing arts. It provides studies in critical art studies, dance, film, video, music and theater. The school is located in Norfolk, Va. It provides various programs for professional training in fine arts, graphic designing and photography. The dance division offers studies in performance, choreography, production, and interactive and digital technologies. The dance coursework includes classes in dance history, functional anatomy, physiology of exercise, body conditioning, yoga, music, video and theatrical presentation and design. It also provides arts and music instruction, which includes private music instruction on voice and musical instruments. The center organizes a variety of programs for its students, including fall and spring classes, vacation camps, violin, cello and guitar learning and summer art programs.
