Founded in 1968, Carlisle School is a nonprofit, independent, coeducational, college preparatory day school for students in grades kindergarten through 12. The school s academic curriculum includes English, science, social studies, social studies, arts and foreign language. Its fine and performing arts department offer drama, dance, jazz band and ensembles. Its athletic department offers several sport activities, including soccer, hockey, cross county, volleyball, cheerleading, basketball, baseball, golf, tennis and softball. Carlisle School is accredited by the Virginia Association of Independent Schools, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, and is recognized by the Virginia Board of Education. The school has lower, middle and upper school divisions and is located in Martinsville, Va.
