Buchanan County Transfer Station
The Cumberland Plateau Regional Waste Management Authority (CPRWMA) is a nonprofit organization formed in 1992 to provide economical and environmentally sound solid waste management and recycling services for the counties of Buchanan, Dickenson, and Russell in Virginia. Since its inception, the Authority has developed and implemented various successful litter prevention and recycling programs, including three regional transfer stations owned and operated by the Authority.
In addition to waste management services, CPRWMA offers educational outreach programs aimed at promoting environmental awareness among local communities, including an annual Groundwater Festival for sixth-grade students. These initiatives reflect the Authority's commitment to fostering responsible waste disposal and recycling practices throughout the region.
