UUNET Communications Services, based in Falls Church, VA, offers a comprehensive collection of freely redistributable UNIX source archives on tape. With over 500 megabytes of source archives available, UUNET subscribers and interested parties can access a wide range of software, including the MIT X Window System, TEX text processing system, GNU software, comp.sources.unix and comp.sources.games archives, Berkeley UNIX releases, networking programs, Internet RFCs, and more.
By popular demand, UUNET Communications Services provides these source archives on either two 6250 bpi 1/2 tapes or five 1/4 cartridge tapes. The tapes contain compressed files, except for the compress program itself, to save space. The cost for the tapes, with prepayment, is $200 for the 1/2 tapes or $350 for the 1/4 tapes. Additional processing costs apply for purchase orders or invoicing. All sources on the tapes are the latest available versions at the time of writing.
