Bristol, VA 24201
The Bristol Regional Speech and Hearing Center was established at Bristol Memorial Hospital in September 1955 under the auspices of the Border Guild, a young women's service club. Border Guild has since changed its name to Junior League. The Speech and Hearing Center was incorporated as a private, non-profit organization. It is governed by its own board of Directors, drawn from the professions, industry, business, and interested citizens. The Center relocated to its present site on Osborne Street in Bristol Virginia in September 2007 due to continued growth and the need for extra space. The new building is conveniently located across from Bristol Mall. Center consists of 3 speech therapy offices, a speech therapy supply room, 2 audiology testing offices, 3 administrative offices, a reception area, kitchen, and a waiting room. The professional staff includes Doctors of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathologists who are certified by the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association.
