A great outdoor area for the camping novice. Bolar Recreation area is right next to Lake Moomaw and a few hiking areas. There are about five camp grounds here with each one allowing enough space...

Had a July 2021 RV site in Loop 1. Left after 2 days into a 3-day reservation. Might as well have camped at a dog kennel. Dogs everywhere, doing what dogs do. No peace and quiet....
