Arlington Mermaid in Arlington, VA was an 18-foot-tall mermaid carved from a tree in 2004 by Paul Jackson. Unfortunately, the mermaid was cut down in 2014 due to damage caused by bugs. It was a unique and quirky attraction that caught the attention of visitors passing by on US Hwy 29 Lee Hwy.

The mermaid, with its immense breasts, was even put up for sale on Craigslist by the owner, who wanted to prevent it from toppling over. Despite its eventual demise, the mermaid remained a memorable sight for those who had the chance to see it, especially with spotlights illuminating it at night.
