Amherst Middle School

Amherst Middle School is a coeducational institution that offers academic education and enrichment programs to more than 450 students in grades six through eight. The school maintains a staff of guidance counselors that provides basic assistance to students. The school organizes a range of sports activities that include football, cheerleading, track and field, wrestling, basketball and volleyball. It has a media center has a library that supports the school curriculum and assists students in the use of current and appropriate information and encourages reading as a lifetime activity. The school offers education in various subjects, including math, science, computer applications, health, physical education, reading, art and social studies. Amherst Middle School is a part of Amherst County Public Schools and is located in Amherst, Va.
