Americans Helping Americans

Incorporated in 1990, Americans Helping Americans is an organization that focuses on providing help to citizens who live in extreme povery in the United States. It offers long-term solutions for problems of starvation, limited education, substandard housing and insufficient medical care. The organization serves the elderly, disabled and poverty-stricken populations throughout the Appalachian regions in Virginia. It is an affiliate of Christian Relief Services Charities. Americans Helping Americans assists low-income communities to reduce resident isolation, build neighbor relations and provides self-improvement opportunities. The organization works in partnerships with local churches, civic groups, hospitals and businesses. In addition, Americans Helping Americans administers various after-school programs and conducts youth leadership and sports camps.
