In the late 90's, Lewis & Freese Advertising began representing one of the nation's leading CRM system providers in search of a viable alternative to the increasing cost of traditional media. After researching competitive CRM solutions, the vision for Votenza crystallized in mid 2001, development began in late '01 and Customer One launched in March '02. Bruce brings a significant amount of technical management experience to Votenza. Over the past 25 years Bruce has held the position of Vice President of Engineering at seven High Tech Computer Start-up Companies from Silicon Valley, California to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, two of which he has taken public with an Initial Public Offering ( IPO ). The most notable of these companies were Citrix Systems from 1993 2000 and The Santa Cruz Operation from 1984 -1991. While at Citrix Systems he grew the revenue from $2 million to over $400 million and the Engineering Department from 22 Software Engineers to over 400. He was responsible for the management of 7 Software Development offices across the United States, Japan, Australia, and the United Kingdom. He has published more than a dozen technical papers and holds several patents in the area of Computer Science. He is also currently an Adjunct Professor of Information Technology and Computer Science at Tidewater Community College teaching several different courses in Computer Science. He has a BS in Mathematics from the University of Missouri and a MS in Computer Science from the University of Hawaii. Prior to his involvement with Votenza, Joe climbed the corporate ladder from sales manager to president/COO to CEO, and eventually to owner/principal of The Lendman Group. Joe led The Lendman Group to national, and then international status as a leading sales and service recruitment organization. The Lendman Group reached annual sales of $30 million before it was sold to The Washington Post Companies. Joe holds a B.S. in Business from the University of Vermont and an M.S. in Management Engineering from George Washington University. He has continued his graduate studies and is a guest lecturer at Old Dominion University's MBA and Financial Management programs. Joe served active duty as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army and currently serves as the Financial Chairman at Spring Branch Community Church.
