Aikido in Fredericksburg, founded in 1993 by Dwight Petersen, is a school offering aikido classes. Aikido is a modern Japanese martial arts technique developed by Morihei Uyeshiba, a Japanese philosopher and master of kendo, spear fighting and jujitsu. The technique helps to develop mental, physical and spiritual integration. The school is a member of the Takemusu Aikido Association and is affiliated with Hombu Dojo and Iwama Dojo in Japan. The school is based in Fredericksburg, Va.
