The Adult Mental Health Division of Rutland Mental Health Services offers a variety of programs and services which are designed to assist people in improving the quality of their lives. We encourage and support each individual to identify and attain his/her personal goals. We empower individuals to grow and gain greater independence. The Child Services Division: When a child in Rutland County needs help, Child and Family Services is always within reach any day, any time. Under Rutland Mental Health Services (RMHS), the programs offered embrace the emotional and behavioral problems that may affect youth, from birth to the teenage years.

The Baird School, located in Burlington, Vt., is an alternative education institute that provides academic programs for children in grades one through eight. It offers a range of services, such as intensive special education, therapeutic behavioral intervention and treatment, psychiatric and psychological consultation, social skills training and family work services. The school also offers a range of substance abuse and mental health services for teenagers and their families. The Baird School is part of HowardCenter, which provides a variety of services for underprivileged children, youths and families. It also provides a range of developmental and mental health and substance abuse services. The organization operates various early childhood, family support, and community-based and therapeutic foster care centers.
