The Brattleboro Development Credit Corporation ( BDCC ) is a private, nonprofit economic development organization that serves as a catalyst for industrial and commercial growth in Windham County. Our primary objective is to create and retain a flourishing business community that supports vibrant fiscal activity, and improves the quality of life of all its residents. Since its founding in 1954, BDCC has been at the hub of economic progress in Southeastern Vermont. BDCC is the owner and manager of the Cotton Mill industrial park/incubator just south of downtown Brattleboro, the new Business Park at the former Book Press building on Putney Road in North Brattleboro, and the Act 250-approved Exit One Industrial Park off Interstate 91. Among BDCC's many accomplishments over the years is the launch of what is Vermont's first-ever Business Plan Competition, an annual event that began in 2006. This was the first property owned by BDCC. Since then, BDCC has purchased and redeveloped two distressed properties in Brattleboro--the Cotton Mill and the Book Press, both of which are now popular and successful incubator spaces providing support for many local businesses.
