Simon Pearce is headquartered in a historic woolen mill on the Ottauquechee River near Quechee, Vt. Simon Pearce restored the unique location in 1981, and its hydroelectric turbine, which harnesses the river s power to fuel the factory s glass furnace. The company s craftsmen produce blown glass, pottery, flatware, wooden bowls and furniture and sells the products at its 10-plus retail stores in Vermont, Connecticut, California, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Visitors to the Windsor, Vt. location can observe teams glass blowers during business hours, seven days a week and a potter working the wheel on weekdays.
