Meredith Merritt is a certified nurse midwife at the University of Vermont Medical Center. Dr. Alia Aunchman is an acute care surgeon at the University of Vermont Medical Center. She specializes in emergency general surgery, appendicitis and critical care. Her research interests include surgical outcomes. When Dr. Aunchman meets patients, it is often under emergent and potentially life-threatening conditions. Her goal is to make it easier for patients and their loved ones to cope with these situations so that everyone can achieve the best possible outcome.
