Lamoille County Natural Conservation
Lamoille County Natural Resources Conservation District (NRCD) was established in 1945 to address the degradation of vital natural resources that support the agricultural livelihood of local residents. The organization collaborates with the USDA's Natural Resources Conservation Service and Farm Service Agency to promote sustainable practices in agriculture and conservation.
The NRCD offers a variety of educational programs, including Forest Camp and Forest School, while also providing opportunities for community involvement through volunteer efforts in tree planting and the maintenance of Green Stormwater Infrastructure. In acknowledging the traditional land of the Nulhegan Band of the Coosuk Abenaki Nation, the organization emphasizes respect and stewardship of the local natural environment.
