John Perkins and Lawrence ( Laurie ) Smith officially created their company Perkins Smith Design Build in 2002. After working together on projects over a seven year period, they realized they shared a passion for good design, excellent craftsmanship, old houses and sustainable building practices. They each brought over 30 years of experience in the building industry to the partnership, as well as complementary skills and a personal dynamic that has allowed their business to flourish.
