Burlington Fire Department Station 4
Burlington Fire Department Station 4, located at 1397 North Avenue, has been serving the city of Burlington since its completion in 1991. This fire station is responsible for responding to emergencies in the New North End area, which includes residential, commercial, and educational properties, as well as senior living facilities. Equipped with Ladder 4 and Ambulance 4, the station is staffed by a team of 5 firefighters who provide fire suppression, paramedic-level emergency medicine, rescue operations, and tactical EMS.
Originally built in the 1950s, the station underwent renovations while preserving the original structure, which now houses fitness equipment and a PPE storage room. Ladder 4, a 2011 E-One HP 75' Straight Stick, responded to 1601 calls in 2022, while Ambulance 4, a 2016 Ford F-450, responded to 1694 calls. With the support of the citizens, the permanent staffing of Ambulance 4 allows for a more rapid response to emergency medical service requests and a stronger overall emergency response in the district.
