The Salt Palace Convention Center provides event planning services to meeting planners, tourism professionals and visitors in Salt Lake City. It is a private, nonprofit community organization that is spread across an area of more than 670,000 square feet. The organization makes arrangements at the South Towne Exposition Center and the South Towne Exposition Center. The Salt Palace Convention Center also provides restaurant reservation and transportation assistance services. It features a gift shop and visitor information center. The center operates a facility services department that offers catering options for various special events and private parties. The Salt Palace Convention Center additionally provides dining options.

There is a reason no refund, or even a roll-over option. I've not seen a larger convention or smaller convention rule out the option entirely.
