He majored in psychology at UW-Madison and knew he wanted to continue working in the mental health field while providing direct patient care, so psychiatry was the perfect fit. He earned his professional degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School and went on to earn the Otto Rath Psychiatry Scholarship. Dr. Shapiro strives to partner with his patients to help them make informed decisions about their health care.
