Dr. Nick Monson, Associate Professor, (clinical) is a board certified primary care sports medicine specialist within the Orthopedic Department of the University of Utah. Dr. Monson specializes in evaluation and treatment of spine, shoulder, elbow, hand, hip, knee and foot and ankle issues. He also has special interest in concussion management and treatment of chronic tendon issues. Dr. Florian Nickisch, Associate Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics specializes in the care of the foot and ankle and traumatic injuries to the lower extremity. Dr. Nickisch’s clinical interests include acute and subacute traumatic injuries to the foot and ankle (Achilles Tendon ruptures, calcaneus fractures, talus fractures midfoot fractures and fracture dislocations), reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle, and sports injuries of the foot and ankle. Breanne Schiffer, MD, MPH, is an Assistant Professor of Laryngology within the Division of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Utah. Dr. Schiffer completed her fellowship training in Laryngology under the guidance of Dr. Marshall Smith at the University of Utah. She also completed her residency training in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Utah. She believes in a multi-disciplinary team-based approach to the management of patients with voice, swallow, and airway concerns and has a particular interest in the medical and surgical treatment of voice disorders. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas A&M University in College Station, TX, and received a Master in Public Health from the University of Texas School of Public Health. She completed medical school at the Long School of Medicine – University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, TX, where she was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society and Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Dr. Schiffer's clinical interests in Laryngology include vocal fold paralysis, vocal fold nodules, polyps, and cysts, laryngeal reinnervation, in-office vocal fold augmentation, vocal fold laser treatments, laryngeal microsurgery, zenker's diverticulum repair, cricopharyngeal myotomy, botox treatment for voice disorders, and endoscopic treatment of airway stenosis.
