Jeffrey Dee Olpin, MD, is a Professor in the Department of Radiology at the University of Utah. He is a member of the Abdominal Imaging faculty with an emphasis on gastrointestinal, genitourinary and cardiac imaging. His specific interests include prostate imaging and MR imaging of the gastrointestinal tract. Dr Olpin received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from Brigham Young University, followed by Master of Arts degree in Music Performance from Yale University. He received his medical degree from the Tulane School of Medicine, followed by residency training at the Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City and fellowship training in Abdominal Imaging at the University of California San Francisco. Dr Olpin served as Residency Program Director for several years, and currently serves as the Director of Medical Student Education in Radiology.

Dr. Sherbotie received his medical degree from Pennsylvania State University, completed his pediatric residency at Brown University, and completed his pediatric nephrology fellowship at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, St. Christopher's Hospital for Children, and the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He is medical director of the Pediatric and Adolescent Renal Transplantation Program at Primary Children's Medical Center, and was previously medical director of the Pediatric and Adolescent Dialysis Program at the University of Utah. He has been in active board member of the local organ procurement organization. He has served for an extended time on the Pediatric Residency Selection Committee for the Department of Pediatrics, as well as other academic and hospital committees. He is active in educating other health care providers. In addition, Dr. Sherbotie is active in facilitating education and clinical program development in pediatric nephrology in developing countries.Dr. Sherbotie’s clinical and research interests are inter-related and include management of hypertension in children and adolescents, atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome, renal and solid organ transplantation and related immunologic processes, and successful transition from pediatrics/adolescent to adult care settings for young patients with chronic kidney disease including renal transplantation.

Jamie P. Dwyer

Jamie P. Dwyer, M. D. is Assistant Vice-President for Clinical Research at the University of Utah Health in Salt Lake City, UT, USA. He is Professor of Medicine in the Division of Nephrology & Hypertension, and Director of the Utah Data Coordinating Center and the Clinical Research Support Office. He is current Principal Investigator of the Collaborative Study Group (CSG), an international academic research organization dedicated to the exceptionally rigorous design, conduct, analysis, and reporting of large, multi-center clinical trials. He has served on multiple Executive and Steering committees for large trials, particularly in CKD progression and cardiovascular outcomes. In 2015, Dr. Dwyer was appointed as a Consultant to the USA’s Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) CardioRenal Advisory Committee, and has both served on and defended data before FDA Advisory Committees. In 2017, he and colleagues founded Innovative Renal Care, a health services delivery company dedicated to improving the care of dialysis patients in the United States. In 2023, he and colleagues founded Corventum, Inc. Dr. Dwyer is a practicing clinical nephrologist who sees patients across the spectrum of kidney disease. He is an accomplished and highly lauded educator, receiving numerous teaching awards, culminating in his election to Vanderbilt’s Academy for Excellence in Education while faculty there in 2013. Dr. Dwyer holds an Sc. B degree in Mathematics and Latin from Brown University in 1996, and an M. D. with Distinction from Brown University Medical School in 2000. He trained in Internal Medicine at Mayo Clinic Florida, where he served as Chief Medical Resident. He trained in Nephrology and Clinical Research at Vanderbilt University. After a faculty appointment at Mayo Clinic, he joined the Nephrology Division of Vanderbilt in 2008. In 2022 he joined Utah. Dr. Dwyer is an attending physician and supervises fellows and residents in clinic and inpatient Nephrology services.
